Chapter 2 - Day 14 - Cypress Black Bayou

About an hour from Gibsland and outside Benton/Shreveport area is the Cypress Black Bayou Recreational Area. Long name, but a gorgeous campground. After Leelu entertained the park workers and we found out that one of them actually cosplayed Leelu from 5th Element, we headed to our site.

I'm looking forward to a couple of days of down time and no traveling.

Oh, and Leelu found an owl pellet. For those of you that don't know... because I'm going to fill you in... owls can't digest bone and hair, nor can they excrete it. So, they regurgitate a pellet of fur and bones, feathers, etc after they digest their meal. So, no, it's not poop. It's vomit!

And, if you ever find one you can reconstruct most of the animal's skeleton from the single pellet. Unless it's a rather large own and they ate two or more meals close together.

This one had been dug through so it's not still in pellet form, but that's what it was. Very cool. From the jaw I'm guessing mouse.
