Chapter 5 - Day 42 - Back to Las Vegas (No photos)

 4/11 - We took our time this morning getting going. No big rush with nothing really happening today other than traveling back to Las Vegas. Ben flies out tomorrow morning.

The drive down Route 66 was rural, brown and deserty. We did cross the Colorado River at the Hoover Dam, but they block the view of the dam from that bridge. Glad we took all the pics the other day when we were there.

We're staying the night at the Las Vegas RV Park, a 370-ish site RV park. It's huge, and freaking HOT. Glad we have electric so we can run the A/C. 

Tomorrow I will drop Ben off in the morning at the airport and start the journey back home.

Chapter 5 - Day 37 - Kolob Canyon and Cactus Garden

 April 6 - (I think)

We left Nevada and headed to Utah. The drive was nice, sunny but a little hazy. Ben tried Del Taco for the first time, similar to Taco Bell but more popular here.

Then we stopped at the Red Hills Desert Garden. This was amazing. They did an amazing job with plant signs, seating areas, paths. It's just a really nice garden. I have not touched up the light on any of these, so keep in mind that the sun washes everything out with my camera.

Then, off to the northern most section of Zion National Park, called Kolob Canyon.

We ended our day with liquor and a fire.

Day 36 - Hoover Dam and Lake Mead

 You'll finally get pics again other than brown road views. 

We got up and moving in the morning, left the airport parking lot, and headed to Lake Mead. I wanted to show Ben where I stayed and to dump the tanks.

Then to Hoover Dam we went.

The dam tour was fun, and our guide started the dad jokes. 'Take all the dam(n) pictures you want.' Which kicked off Ben and the quiet dam(n) jokes. 

And on the walk back to the camper we took more pics.

Day 33 and 34 - Nevada and Las Vegas Adjacent Camping

 4/2 and 4/3 - Rolled from Cali into Nevada to snow, sprinkles, sunshine and breezy conditions. I spent a couple of days on Lake Mead at the Boulder City Beach Campground. Check out the clouds in the picks from my drive. 

This is a state/national campground that doesn't offer hookups. Which means the solar panels came out.

Work call in the sun. 

I'm just waiting for Ben to get here Friday!!
