4/9 - Today was a crazy long day. We left Raptor Ranch in the morning and headed to the Petrified Forest National Park. Which means we took Route 180 through the mountains, past San Francisco Peak, into Flagstaff, then I40 to the Meteor Crater, Arizona Sake, Route 66 famous hotdogs, to the Petrified Forest, Jim's Petrified Wood, Inc. and back to Homolovi State Park for the night.
Road pics from Valle, AZ past the San Francisco Peak
Meteor Crater near Winslow/Holbrook.
Then coffee at the crater's coffee shop.
Ben sharing his coffee with the resident alien
Then to the only Sake maker in the US, Arizona Sake for a tasting and a few bottles were purchased.
THEN, we got Colonel Mustard's Hotdogs... Route 66 famous. So good.
Are you tired yet? We were, but we decided we'd still go to the Petrified Forest National Park and I'm so glad we did.
We raced to Jim's Petrified Wood, Inc. in Holbrook to grab ourselves a chunk o' wood and some other fun stuff.
Finally we headed to Homolovi State Park for the night. Got in just as the sunset was ending.
