The drive was beautiful. I had a couple of detours planned. The Petroglyph National Monument and the Ice Cave/Volcano near Grants NM. The petroglyph park was amazing. There is a visitor's center, where I saw a live, in the wild roadrunner. Also 5 stops around the outside the park to see petroglyphs.
The ice cave and volcano were about an hour down the road. I didn't do the trails. Call me lazy, that's fine, but I'll give you the links to see them. It was neat driving up to the antient volcano because there are lava tubes all along I40.
I stopped driving, finally after what I think was a 26 hour day (daylight savings, plus time zones, plus AZ) at a little nothing of a RV park in Sun Valley Arizona. This was my destination for Monday night already, so I stayed two nights.
