3/12/25 - I left Houston Mesa Campgrounds and headed to Globe. Because we're still in the middle of the week my drive was about two hours.
On my way I was going to stop and see the Theodore Roosevelt Dam, Tonto National Monument and Besh Ba Gowah. I did SEE the dam, but didn't end up stopping. Ben and I are doing the Hoover Dam when he comes to visit, so it was an easy bypass for me.
See, there's the dam. LOL
Then, to Besh Ba Gowah. Which is another ruins similar to Shoofly. They've done a neat job adding a garden to it. I loved all the different cacti.
There were wild, or not penned at least, quail running and flying around. That was really neat to see. Leelu and I didn't tour the museum part, as she wasn't allowed and I really just wanted to wander the ruins and see the plants.
I found myself a nice overnight spot in a very small parking lot-turned RV park. The only photo I took was on the way out from the highway above it. But it was exactly what it sounds like. A parking lot someone put hook ups in. It worked for the night, gave us electric and water.
Off tomorrow to avoid the wind and get into Tucson.
