Day 36 - Hoover Dam and Lake Mead

You'll finally get pics again other than brown road views.

We got up and moving in the morning, left the airport parking lot, and headed to Lake Mead. I wanted to show Ben where I stayed and to dump the tanks.

Then to Hoover Dam we went.

The dam tour was fun, and our guide started the dad jokes. 'Take all the dam(n) pictures you want.' Which kicked off Ben and the quiet dam(n) jokes.

And on the walk back to the camper we took more pics.

Day 35 - Ben Flies In

4/4 - This morning was full of work, picking up Walmart, picking up Thai food and waiting for Ben to get in. He has the worst luck so his direct flight was delayed 2 hours.

** pics of flowers before I left**

I left Boulder City Beach and headed to Henderson, NV to pick up Walmart/groceries. It was an easy drive and Henderson is literally right next to Vegas.

I picked up vegan Thai as well from this little place on the way to the airport. The plan was to pick up food and have it still warm when Ben landed. That didn't happen, but I have a microwave, so it's all good. :D

Ben was supposed to land around 5pm PST. He didn't end up landing until after 8. But he made it safe and sound, which is really all that matters.

We were supposed to go back to the same campground for the night, but I decided it was easier to just stay in the airport parking lot. So that's what we did.

Day 33 and 34 - Nevada and Las Vegas Adjacent Camping

4/2 and 4/3 - Rolled from Cali into Nevada to snow, sprinkles, sunshine and breezy conditions. I spent a couple of days on Lake Mead at the Boulder City Beach Campground. Check out the clouds in the picks from my drive.

This is a state/national campground that doesn't offer hookups. Which means the solar panels came out.

Work call in the sun.

I'm just waiting for Ben to get here Friday!!

Chapter 5 - Day 31 and 32- California, here I come

3/31 - Headed out of Kingman, AZ on my way to Needles, CA. Both are on Route 66 so I spent some time checking out Kingman and Seligman. Route 66 is such a blast to drive. It's so empty and really allows you to enjoy the scenery at whatever speed/pace you want to go.

Oh look... a brown bunny...

Topography changed a little on the way, passing through some blade-like mountains.

Crossed the Colorado River, finally!

And I'm resting my head in Needles for two nights. Laundry and electricity! Whoot.

April 1 - Hanging here in Needles. Listening to the road traffic and enjoying the water and electric.

Did laundry and decided I need to add a couple of clotheslines inside the camper. When the dryers are expensive and one round doesn't completely dry them. :D

Off to Nevada tomorrow.
